Keema Champ

- 1/2 kg medium ground beef
- 1/2 kg lamb chops
- 800 gm plain yogurt
- 3 tbs. Garam Masala
- 1 tsp. red chili powder
- 2 green chilies fine chopped
- 2 tsp. chopped ginger
- 1 1/2 tsp. Salt or to your taste

- 1 small tomato finely chopped
- 3 tbs. cooking oil
- 3 tsp. fresh dhania (Coriander leaves) finely chopped.

cook it and everyone in our family loves it. A recipe that I have perfected myself, here I'm sharing it with you. I would love to hear your comments once you have tried it.

So here we start:-
1) Mix garam masala, red chili powder and salt in yogurt. Mix well to paste.
2) Wash lamb chops and pour half of the yogurt paste in a pressure cooker along with chops. Cook under pressure for 5 minutes or to chops almost tender.
3) Remove gravy and meat into a pan.
4) Add rest of the yogurt mix and ground beef into pan.
5) Cook on medium fire till water dried up.
6) Add oil and keep cooking for 5 minutes. Add a bit of water if required.
7) Add green chilies, ginger, onion, half chopped tomato and cook further 5 minutes.
8) Add other half of tomato and fresh chopped coriander. Cook further for 3-4 minutes.
And your Kemma Champ is ready. Serve hot with
Nan. or Roti.


Running short of chili sauce?
Make a quick sauce at home! Put a little chili pickle in the mixer and grind for 2-3 minutes to obtain a smooth paste. Add this paste instead of chili sauce to the dish.

10 Tips to control
 Blood Pressure

  1. Make sure your blood pressure is under 140/90 mm Hg. If your systolic pressure (the top number) is over 140, ask your doctor what you can do to lower it.
     
  2. Take your high blood pressure medicine, if prescribed, every day. If you have questions, talk to your doctor.
     
  3. Aim for a healthy weight. If you are overweight or obese, carrying this extra weight increases your risk of high blood pressure. One way to determine if you need to lose weight is to find out your body mass index or BMI. If your BMI is above the healthy range (i.e., 25 or greater), or if your waist measurement is greater than 35 inches (women) or 40 inches (men) you probably have excess abdominal weight and you may benefit from weight loss especially if you have other risk factors. Talk to your doctor to see if you are at increased risk for high blood pressure and need to lose weight.
     
  4. Increase your physical activity. Do at least 30 minutes of moderate activity, such as walking, most days of the week. You can do 30 minutes in three 10-minute segments.
     
  5. Choose foods low in salt and sodium. Most Americans should consume no more than 2.4 grams (2,400 milligrams) of sodium a day. That equals 6 grams, about one teaspoon of table salt a day. For someone with high blood pressure, the doctor may advise less.
     
  6. Read nutrition labels. Almost all packaged foods contain sodium. Every time you prepare or eat a packaged food, know how much sodium is in one serving.
     
  7. Keep a sodium diary. You may be surprised at how much sodium you consume each day and the diary will help you decide which foods to decrease or eliminate.
     
  8. Use spices and herbs instead of salt to season the food you prepare at home.
     
  9. Eat more fruits, vegetables, grains, and low-fat dairy foods.
     
  10. If you consume alcohol at all, consume moderate amounts. For men, this is less than two 12 oz servings of beer, or two 5 oz glasses of wine, or two 1 1/2 oz servings of "hard" alcohol a day. Women or lighter weight people should have not more than a single serving of any one of these beverages in a given day.

Assalam-O-Alaikum!
Hope all is peaceful in and around you.

It is human nature to desire for peace. But in these times, when everything around us seems to be in chaos, where can we go to find peace? We spend most of our time looking for peace externally, never really realizing that it is always within. If you speculate, you will realize that indeed this Kingdom of Heaven is within us. And once you accept this truth, you come to stop worrying about things beyond your control, and manage to stay steady and maintain calm in yourself.  This is the peace!
It requires practice to bring calm in you in these turbulent times. When you feel devastated ask yourself if you're ok.  Emotionally, you may feel like a wreck, but your physical existence is intact and living. And as time is ticking past you are indeed moving away from the disaster.  Do not replay bad events over and over again in your head. Because it only makes you relive the trauma and does you indeed more harm than the event itself. Next, focus on your life and your thoughts like an observer. This empowers you to take the right kind of action without being hyperactive.
Sometimes our anger and irritation is caused by the occurrence of things that are beyond our control. When they happen the way we donít want them to or expect them to, we get agitated. For example, if my daughter does not behave as I wish her to, I lose my temper. I get upset when the maid does not do the required job or do it but not the way I wanted. I get overwhelmed when things donít go the way I planned them and expected them to. These emotions are but natural and part of human experience. We all have a lot of these little annoyances but one way to get over them is to expect things to be different than we hoped or planned. Once you accept it you wonít overreact. But respond appropriately, and hence stay composed.
So folks, stop the hunt for peace elsewhere because the Kingdom of Heaven is within you.
