Mrs. Zeenat Obaid was suffering from Liver cirrhosis Hepatitis C and went to Delhi India for surgery couple of months back. The surgery was successful and she lived for 19 days and died on June 04, 2010. The body was later buried at Karachi on June 07, 2010. Saudi Champaign

- 1 (900 ml) bottled Apple juice
- 1 (900 ml) bottled White grapes juice
- 1 bottle (750ml) any sparkling spring water. I use Perrier.
- One Apple. Half diced
(not pealed) and other half pealed and grated.
- One Orange diced.
- Six Strawberries, chopped.
- Juice from one large Lemon.
- 10-15 Mint leaves washed thoroughly. Very finely chopped.
- Ice cubes enough to keep the punch bowel chilled. Do not put any ice inside the drink.

well known drink but my recipe slightly differs from what you get in the restaurants. This drink can be served on cocktail parties and also goes very well with special dinners. Server it with cocktail snacks or with main course at the dinner table.  Remember it is a special drink so needs to be served in special Champaign glasses from your Crystal ware collection. The recipe is to make a full punch bowel enough for 12 adults.

All the juices and water needs to be kept in the Refrigerator till the time required for preparation. Add Lemon juice and chopped mint leaves in a mixing bowl.

Use a spoon to whisk  it for like 5 minutes. Pour this mixture in the punch bowl. Add diced and grated Apple, Orange and chopped Strawberries. Pour Apple and Grapes juice. Do not open the bottle of the sparkling water till you are ready to serve. Now keep this mixture in the Refrigerator for at least two hours. The best way to serve this drink is to hold the punch bowl with Ice cubes. I do it by putting the punch in a basket that is full of Ice cubes. If this sort of arrangement is not possible for you then keep the drink and the water bottle in your freezer for at least 1 hour.

Do not put ice in the drink it will ruin the flavour of the drink.  At the time of serving get them out and pour the sparkling water into the already made mixture of juices, stir and serve.

Potato peel wafers
Potato peels can be made into tasty wafers. Immerse the peel in warm water to which a pinch of salt is added and then dry it. Deep fry till crisp and you have delicious potato wafers.

Laser Pointers 'Pose danger to eyes'

Hand-held laser pointers can cause serious eye damage if used inappropriately, doctors have warned.
Medics from the Royal Liverpool Hospital and Manchester Eye Hospital spoke out after treating a teenager who had shone a laser into his eyes.
He suffered burns and retinal damage, the British Medical Journal reported.

The Health Protection Agency said it had received reports of retinal damage and recommended that only pointers with limited power should be sold.

A spokesman said: "The Health Protection Agency has not been made aware of any injuries to the surface of the eye caused by laser pointers - such injuries are usually caused by persistent rubbing of the eye after the laser beam has been shone into the eye.

"Clinicians have, however, made the HPA aware that scotomas - retinal injuries causing abnormal vision - have been caused by high power green laser pointers.
"The HPA recommends that laser pointers generally available to the public should be restricted to less than 1 milliwatt as no such injuries have been reported at this power."

The teenager in question had bought a green, diode laser pointer over the internet and, while playing with it, shone the laser beam into his eyes.
Tests showed that the youngster had central scotomas, or dark spots, in his vision.
He was treated by Dr Kimia Ziahosseini and colleagues from the two hospitals.

After the incident, they found that the teenager's clearness of vision was poor. Tests revealed burns to the surface of the eye and disturbances to the retina, the light sensitive tissue at the back of the eye.

Two months later, his vision had improved but some retinal damage remained.
"Although his vision has now returned to normal, he is at risk of developing problems later on in life as a result of the damage to his retina," said Dr Ziahosseini.
The UK Health Protection Agency advises that laser products sold to the public for use as laser pointers should be restricted to devices with laser power less than 1 Milliwatt.
This is in accordance with the British Standard.

The laser pointers should also be accompanied by sufficient information on how to operate them safely, the HPA says.
Barbara McLaughlan, campaigns manager at the Royal National Institute of Blind People, said: "Laser pointers are deceptive. They look safe but they can be very dangerous, particularly ones available on the internet which may possess a very strong beam.
"If misused and shone into a person's eyes, even for just a few seconds, the damage can be devastating," she said.

Top 10 Things You Can Do to
Reduce Global Warming

Burning fossil fuels such as natural gas, coal, oil and gasoline raises the level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, and carbon dioxide is a major contributor to the
greenhouse effect and global warming. You can help to reduce the demand for fossil fuels, which in turn reduces global warming, by using energy more wisely. Here are 10 simple actions you can take to help reduce global warming.

1. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

Do your part to reduce waste by choosing reusable products instead of disposables. Buying products with minimal packaging (including the economy size when that makes sense for you) will help to reduce waste. And whenever you can, recycle paper, plastic, newspaper, glass and aluminum cans. If there isn't a recycling program at your workplace, school, or in your community, ask about starting one. By recycling half of your household waste, you can save 2,400 pounds of carbon dioxide annually.
2. Use Less Heat and Air Conditioning

Adding insulation to your walls and attic, and installing weather stripping or caulking around doors and windows can lower your heating costs more than 25 percent, by reducing the amount of energy you need to heat and cool your home.

Turn down the heat while you're sleeping at night or away during the day, and keep temperatures moderate at all times. Setting your thermostat just 2 degrees lower in winter and higher in summer could save about 2,000 pounds of carbon dioxide each year.
Change a Light Bulb

Wherever practical, replace regular light bulbs with compact fluorescent light (CFL) bulbs. Replacing just one 60-watt incandescent light bulb with a CFL will save you $30 over the life of the bulb. CFLs also last 10 times longer than incandescent bulbs, use two-thirds less energy, and give off 70 percent less heat. If every U.S. family replaced one regular light bulb with a CFL, it would eliminate 90 billion pounds of greenhouse gases, the same as taking 7.5 million cars off the road.

Drive Less and Drive Smart

Less driving means fewer emissions. Besides saving gasoline, walking and biking are great forms of exercise. Explore your community mass transit system, and check out options for carpooling to work or school.
When you do drive, make sure your car is running efficiently. For example, keeping yourtires properly inflated can improve your gas mileage by more than 3 percent. Every gallon of gas you save not only helps your budget, it also keeps 20 pounds of carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere.
5. Buy Energy-Efficient Products

When it's time to buy a new car, choose one that offers good gas mileage. Home appliances now come in a range of energy-efficient models, and compact florescent bulbs are designed to provide more natural-looking light while using far less energy than standard light bulbs.
Avoid products that come with excess packaging, especially molded plastic and other packaging that can't be recycled. If you reduce your household garbage by 10 percent, you can save 1,200 pounds of carbon dioxide annually.
6. Use Less Hot Water

Set your water heater at 120 degrees to save energy, and wrap it in an insulating blanket if it is more than 5 years old. Buy low-flow showerheads to save hot water and about 350 pounds of carbon dioxide yearly. Wash your clothes in warm or cold water to reduce your use of hot water and the energy required to produce it. That change alone can save at least 500 pounds of carbon dioxide annually in most households. Use the energy-saving settings on your
dishwasher and let the dishes air-dry.

7. Use the "Off" Switch

Save electricity and reduce global warming by turning off lights when you leave a room, and using only as much light as you need. And remember to turn off your television, video player, stereo and computer when you're not using them. It's also a good idea to turn off the water when you're not using it. While brushing your teeth, shampooing the dog or washing your car, turn off the water until you actually need it for rinsing. You'll reduce your water bill and help to conserve a vital resource.

Plant a Tree

If you have the means to plant a tree, start digging. During photosynthesis, trees and other plants absorb carbon dioxide and give off oxygen. They are an integral part of the natural atmospheric exchange cycle here on Earth, but there are too few of them to fully counter the increases in carbon dioxide caused by automobile traffic, manufacturing and other human activities. A single tree will absorb approximately one ton of carbon dioxide during its lifetime.

Get a Report Card from Your Utility Company

Many utility companies provide free home energy audits to help consumers identify areas in their homes that may not be energy efficient. In addition, many utility companies offer rebate programs to help pay for the cost of energy-efficient upgrades.

10. Encourage Others to Conserve

Share information about recycling and energy conservation with your friends, neighbors and co-workers, and take opportunities to encourage public officials to establish programs and policies that are good for the environment. These 10 steps will take you a long way toward reducing your energy use and your monthly budget. And less energy use means less dependence on the fossil fuels that create greenhouse gases and contribute to global warming.

*    Don't bathe Bathing will cause the increase of blood flow to the hands, legs & body thus the amount of blood around the stomach will therefore decrease.  This will weaken the digestive system in our stomach.                                                            

*    Don't walk about People always say that after a meal walk a hundred steps and you will live till 99. In actual fact this is not true. Walking will cause the digestive system to be unable to absorb the nutrition from the food we intake.                                                                      
*    Don't sleep immediately The food we intake will not be able to digest properly. Thus will lead to gastric & infection in our intestine.

|Friends, hope the sweltering heat of summer season is not doing badly to you.
Many a times we struggle to achieve something. But when after sometimes, we do not see the result, we lose hope and give up our dedication. It is related to such times that I am taking up in today’s write up.

Let us start with a story about a man who had a dream that he has been given a divine order to push against the large rock infront of his cabin. So when he woke up, he started to push against the rock. He would toil all day long and return at night exhausted with feeling that all his effort is going in vain because the rock remained unmoved. Months flew by and yet the rock had not been moved by an inch either.  Seeing the man showing discouragement, devil satan entered in his mind that the task was impossible and that he was a failure.  These thoughts further disheartened the man.  Seeing the man losing determination, satan said to the man that you will kill yourself like this. So just spend the time by putting in the minimum effort. After all , why give the task your hundred percent when the task is an impossible one. The weary man just thought to do so but before that he decided to make it a matter of prayers. He took his troubled thoughts to Lord, and said, “I have labored hard and long in your service, putting all my strength in doing what you had commanded me to do.  Yet I have failed to move the rock even an inch. What’s wrong? Why am I failing?”

Lord said, “I asked you to serve me and you accepted. I told your task was to push the rock with all your strength and that you have done. Never once did I mention you are expected to move it. Now you come to me with your strength spent, thinking that you have failed. But look at yourself. Your arms are strong and muscled. Your hands are callused from constant pressure. Your legs are massive and hard. Through opposition you have grown much and your abilities now surpass that which you used to have. True, you haven’t moved the rock but your calling was to be obedient, to push the rock, to exercise your faith and trust in my wisdom. That you have done and now I will move the rock.”

Friends, sometimes we have an intuition that God wants us to do a certain work. We tend to use our own intellect to decipher what He wants from us. What Allah wants from us is just simple obedience and faith in Him. As a scholar rightly puts it, “By all means exercise the faith that moves mountains, but know that it is still God that moves the mountains.” So the lesson learnt from the above story, is that when things seem to go wrong, when you seem to be failing and everything around you seems to be going against you, start to P-U-S-H, that is, “Pray until something happens”.
